Seeds of an Idea: Android Inc. and the Open-Source Dream

The story of Android begins in 2003 with the founding of Android Inc. by Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, Nick Sears, and Chris White. This marked the beginning of a flourishing app ecosystem that would become a cornerstone of its success.

September 2008: The HTC Dream – Android Makes its Debut

The highly anticipated launch of the first commercially available Android smartphone, the HTC Dream (also known as the T-Mobile G1), took place in September 2008. This touchscreen phone showcased the core functionalities of it, including an intuitive user interface, web browsing capabilities, and integrated Google services like Gmail and Maps.
